Starting January 1, 2025, the Australian government has made it mandatory for international students to provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) when applying for student visas. This move aims to streamline the process and ensure only committed students pursue opportunities in Australia.

đź’ˇ What does this mean for you?

You must secure admission and obtain your CoE from a recognized institution before applying for your visa. As of 1 Jan 2025 - letter of offer (LOO) no longer allowed previously - That flexibility given to onshore applicants is now gone, plan well and early!

Planning ahead is now more important than ever!

At Openmaps Education Agency, we’re here to guide you through the process, from choosing the right program to securing your enrollment and visa.

Other key highlights;

  • Streamlined VISA processing: DHA will process all providers on same timelines whilst providers are under 80% of indicative CAPs.

  • Economic Alignment: The new shift will gear to the country's economic need, more focus on employer sponsored visas, skills and backgrounds addressing Australia skills shortage.

  • Family Visa Scrutiny: Family and partner visas will face higher scrutiny, including a stricter definition of "verifiable connection".

  • A little more scrutiny for visitor visas - who now must undertake medical check-ups.
