Australia's New English requirements for admissions and registration for Nurses!!!

The revised Registration standard: English language skills (the common ELS standard) and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s English language skills registration standard (NMBA ELS standard) is in effect (from 18 March 2025).

📢IELTS

Minimum overall score remains 7.0.

The minimum score of 7.0 is required in following components;

• Listening
• Reading
• Speaking

The Writing component score from 7.0 to 6.5.

📢PTE

Minimum overall score of 66 in each of the three communicative skills;

• Listening
• Reading
• Speaking

Writing component score from 66 to 56.

📢Note:

Applicant MUST meet above in requirements in one test sitting or maximum of two test sittings in a 12-month period only (no score in any component of the two test(s) should be below 6.5).
